Globalization and Trade

The most interesting thing I learned about globalization and trade was how many negatives there were. When I look at something, I usually look at the positive side not the negatives. When I saw globalization I scanned through all the positives and then realized how many negatives there were. For example globalization causes pollution and workers rights to be vetoed. Also globalization causes people to lose jobs.
The part of the sketch notes that I’m most proud of is the variety sketch. It shows how trading increases variety.

Nigeria's Standard Of Living

A country’s standard of living does not show how well off everyone is in that country. It just show an average. For instance, if almost the entire country was wealthy but there were 3 people that were poor, the country’s standard of living would be high (if everything else was high: wealth health infrastructure, leisure time, and education.) because most of the people are wealthy, healthy, educated, have lots of time to hand around, and have basic needs.

The most interesting thing I learned about standard of living was that there are 5 different categories to base it off of. Wealth, health, education, infrastructure, and leisure time. If you think about it everything is based off those 5 categories. It was really cool to see how different, different countries are.

I think we do have an obligation to help out other countries that don’t have such a high standard of living as the U.S.. When another country needs help from either a war or disease, we send over people from the red cross to help out. When a country has been destroyed by a natural disaster, we send over supplies.
